Woods Bagot Names Neil Hill as Design Director

Hill’s vast experience spans 25 years, and includes work across a great variety of sectors including large-scale mixed use, commercial, transport, workplace and cultural projects. At Woods Bagot Neil will work with the studio and design leaders, applying conceptual skill in order to achieve the highest quality design outcomes.

“By considering how people use space, Neil is a big picture thinker, adept at envisioning a truly mixed-use site, cross pollinating the precinct for spatial efficiency and experience,” says Woods Bagot Principal Domenic Alvaro.

Prior to joining the helm at Woods Bagot, Hill has directed design for projects such as Calyx Horticultural Display Centre in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, the Waterfront Place Upgrade in Brisbane, and the Christchurch Airport Terminal redevelopment. Hill was also one of three leaders from around the globe chosen to host a transport forum, discussing the connectivity of precincts and city making. Hill considered the impact of technology in transport-orientated developments.

“At its core,” says Hill, “Good design is about understanding what the precinct has today, what it can offer tomorrow, and how users should be placed at the heart of the design process.”
