National Graduate Exhibition at Object Gallery, Sydney, until 15th June 2008.
April 23rd, 2008
Young designers from across the country have competed with fellow students to exhibit their work in Object’s annual national graduate exhibition Design Now!, on show in Sydney at Object Gallery, until 15 June 2008.
The Design Now! competition was judged in April to a packed crowd, seeing a graduate from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Kevin Azzopardi, presented with the Object Award for Creative Innovation, while Sydney graduate Sian Power, from College of Fine Arts, was awarded The Living Edge Travelling Scholarship (work pictured).
The Living Edge Travelling Scholarship is the result of a new partnership between Object and Living Edge, and includes a return trip to Los Angeles (to visit Eames House and the Living Edge LA Showroom), as well five nights accommodation and $1,000 spending money.
Previous winners of the graduate exhibition, such as Trent Jansen and Frag Woodall, have been catapulted into the public eye with the recognition of receiving such a highly competitive award attracting attention from the design industry and manufacturers.
