Jess Noble introduces us to jeweller Jordan Askill.
May 14th, 2009
His name is on the lips and minds of the global design world right now. Meet the insanely talented 28-year-old Aussie, Jordan Askill, whose new jewellery range is a cut above the rest.
Sydney born and raised, Jordan Askill, is a poster-child for design success. The self-proclaimed over-ambitious jewellery designer started, like many Australian design stars, as a student of East Sydney Fashion Tafe.
From graduating top-of-the-class, to designing for Tsubi, Alexander McQueen in London and Dior Homme in Paris – Jordan embraced the titanic success still in his early 20s.
Currently living in Europe, Jordan has developed his own line of wearable jewellery, taking inspiration from the nostalgia of youth to reveal a remarkably honest, modern and super-cool collection.
Catching the eyes of designer Rick Owens, the line is available exclusively at Owens’ Parisian boutique.
As if this young maestro isn’t busy enough, Jordan has also been experimenting with sculpture, creating the ‘Horse’ sculpture using rapid prototyping. While his absolutely timeless designs are derived from memories of the past, his contemporary image is obvious, as is his future success.
