Organised by the Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA), this year’s Asia Pacific Interior Design Award (APIDA) received nearly 600 submissions, including entries from Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Korea, Australia and New Zealand – a significant increase compared to previous years.

Commenting on the awards, the Chairman of APIDA 2013, Wesley Liu says, “We have witnessed, year on year, an increasing number of participants and an ever-growing pool of young, upcoming talents within the Interior Design industry all across the Asia Pacific. With our concerted efforts in raising professional standards and taking part in various exchange programmes with Asia Pacific countries, we have been successful in bridging design cultures as well as promoting winners’ works overseas.”
Work Space (Gold winner) – Adidas Greater China Headquarters by PDM International
Food Space (Gold winner) – The Commune Social by Neri&Hu Design and Research Office
HKIDA chairman Antony Chan says, “Over the past 20 years, the APIDA had witnessed the evolution of the design evolvement in the Asia Pacific region. Entries from different countries demonstrate significant and encouraging improvement in the quality of interior design throughout the region.”

A total of 49 awards were given out this year across ten categories including Public Space, Installation & Exhibition Space, Living Space, Student, Leisure & Entertainment Space, Hotel Space, Sample Space, Shopping Space, Food Space, and Work Space.
