Light + Shade: An Exhibition of Contrasts features jewellery by Marta Niegowska and sculpture by Mark Coulston.
April 1st, 2011
Opening on 7 April and running until 19 April at Sydney’s Gaffa Gallery, Light + Shade brings together the jewellery of Marta Niegowska and the sculpture of Mark Coulston.
Marta Niegowska is the designer behind avant-garde jewellery label Bilingual, and she will be displaying her latest collection ’Eclipse’, a series of rings, bangles and earrings inspired by the natural attributing factors that precede an eclipse.
Mark Coulston (of Black Box Architects) will display his first exhibition ’incompertus iucunditas’, a collection of sculptures and constructions of various timbers orthogonally arranged and fixed. Coulston explores his fascination with dichotomies as architectural tools – repetition/irregularity, consistency/diversity, economy/richness.
