Clever branding and graphics by Joel Spencer Design bring fun and vibrancy to a corporate environment.

Workstar, in Sydney’s Darlinghurst, was in need of a brand refresh and a livelier, more colourful space for its staff and clients.
The Joel Spencer Design project team – consisting of Joel Spencer, Stephen Au, Adam Frazer and Richard Scenna, with Sign-a-rama Alexandria – used a recurring motif to create unique, distinct spaces that spoke of the creativity and talent within the organisation and represented the company brand.
The primary elements of the brand can be seen in the reception area. The Workstar logo inspires the colour palette and environmental graphics that continue throughout the interior.
In ’The Garden’, a narrow meeting room with high ceilings, a subtle but playful effect is achieved with a palette of 2 colours and a tree silhouette featuring a cat, birds and an apple, with an accompanying quote by Bernard Baruch – “Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton asked why”.
’The Space’ uses a pattern derived from the logo and an expanded colour palette. Quotes from Albert Einstein and The Matrix emblazon the walls, encouraging thought and inspiration .
The main design is a combination of graded colour pinwheels and layered transparencies on the glass divider for partial privacy.
In the kitchen, bold colours and simple graphics break up the grey and white scheme of the space.
The result is a fun, vibrant office environment creating a better experience for staff and clients.
