The co-living haven is close to the CIQ checkpoint with prices starting from RM800.

In 2022, Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) reported that close to 300,000 travellers cross the Johor-Singapore Causeway daily and a majority are Malaysians who work in Singapore. Amidst Singapore’s escalating rental prices due to pandemic-induced construction delay and an influx of foreign talents, more Malaysians are opting for cheaper accommodation options in Johor Bahru.
In response to this demand, Bespoke Habitat launched co-living apartments that are situated near Mid Valley Southkey with prices ranging from RM800 (S$230) to RM1,400 (S$403). The property’s proximity to the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Checkpoint and availability of essential amenities enhance its appeal, resulting in an impressive 80 per cent occupancy rate, with most tenants already settled.
Comprising 200 rooms, the fully furnished apartments are tailored for working professionals. They feature functional living areas, fully equipped kitchens, private bedrooms, and a suite of amenities, including high-speed Wi-Fi, on-site laundry, concierge customer care, and weekly cleaning.
The Singapore-based co-living start-up’s expansion into Malaysia also addresses the demands from corporate entities in Singapore seeking streamlined accommodation solutions for their commuting employees. “As a trusted solution provider in the B2B market, we understand the challenges HR departments face when it comes to housing their colleagues, and there has to be a go-to place for them to seek convenience with better transportation and a comfortable living solution,” said Ernee Ong, Co-Founder of Bespoke Habitat. To further facilitate seamless travel, Bespoke Habitat offers dedicated transportation services for residents shuttling between Singapore and Malaysia.
Looking ahead, the company envisions diversification into commercial real estate, including hotel developments, to enrich its service offerings. Eyeing future growth, Bespoke Habitat aims to establish a presence in Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, aligning with its mission to redefine co-living experiences for professionals across the region.
