Three of our regional judges reflect on the quality of the INDE.Awards 2018 submissions, and the significance of architecture and design produced in Asia Pacific.
June 28th, 2018
What makes the work from Asia Pacific unique and valuable as a focal point for study and contemplation? We asked three members of our INDE.Awards 2018 Jury to share their thoughts ahead of the Gala. The resulting video formed a powerful opening statement for the INDE.Awards Gala in Singapore on 22 June 2018.
Joshua Comaroff (Design Consultant at Lekker Architects, Singapore), Eleena Jamil (Principal, Eleena Jamil Architect, Malaysia) and William Smart (Founder and Creative Director, Smart Design Studio, Australia) discussed some of the key facets of the region and its work: climatic response, social and cultural diversity, material tradition and reinterpretation, context and quality. Watch and listen to hear their thoughts about the important architectural advancements happening in APAC and their hopes for the INDE.Awards in the future.
Congratulations to all our winners of the INDE.Awards 2018!
