Smeg is giving Australian consumers the confidence to explore and expand their culinary boundaries with its innovative Galileo multi-cooking technology, a new system that combines traditional, steam and microwave technology in one oven cavity.

For many, cooking is a daunting and time-consuming task, made even harder by a lack of adequate kitchen space or a lack of confidence in one’s own culinary skills. What many people overlook, however, is with the right tools and appliances, a delicious meal can come together quickly, efficiently and at a reasonable price.
Redefining what is possible in the kitchen, iconic Italian appliance brand, Smeg, is giving Australians the chance to master both timesaving and creativity with its new Galileo multi-cooking technology. This new culinary platform promises to reduce cooking time by as much as 70% by combining three cooking methods (traditional, steam and microwave) in one oven cavity, which can be used singly, sequentially or simultaneously to offer up to seven cooking combinations plus in-oven barbecue, air fry and stone cooking.

The easy to use technology will allow users to effortlessly master even the most complicated, multi-stage recipes. This is made possible with the Multistep function, which allows you to program the different cooking methods to trigger one after another with set-and-forget capability for temperature and duration. This culinary multi-tasker not only simplifies preparation, it results in less stress and better results.
Timing multi-course meals is made easy by the clever Sametime function, which takes the guesswork out of synchronising different dishes and courses to ensure the feast is timed to perfection. In addition, Galileo includes over 150 automatic recipes, with its smart cooking function offering users control over parameters like weight, timing, and the type of cooking the dish requires. A selection of professional accessories, such as the reversible barbeque tray, airfry tray and refractory stone open up even more culinary possibilities.

Galileo combines three appliances into one, making it possible to have more space available in the kitchen for storage and prep. In the commercial space, this technology is especially valuable, as it frees up room for other appliances such as wine cellars, built-in coffee machines and blast chillers, while supporting all types of cooking techniques and cuisines. In addition, Galileo’s redesigned oven cavity prevents heat loss, reducing energy consumption by 10% in comparison to traditional models.
While other manufacturers offer numerous options for two-in-one cooking technologies (usually traditional and steam cooking), there are very few manufacturers that offer Galileo’s multi-functional capabilities in a full-size oven cavity capacity. Even fewer do so without compromising the performance and authenticity of each cooking technology, especially when used individually.

With Galileo, Smeg has achieved their greatest technological feat to date, continuing their fine Italian tradition of excellence in design and innovation. In recognition of its world-leading innovations, affordability, sustainability and ease of use, Smeg’s Galileo received Canstar Blue’s Innovation Excellence Award (Kitchen Appliances) for 2022.
The groundbreaking Galileo multi-technology is currently available with Smeg’s Dolce Stil Novo and Linea aesthetic collections and soon to be launched with the Classic aesthetic collection.
