Design Victoria untangles Intellectual Property in two new publications for graphic and industrial designers.
November 11th, 2008
Navigating your way through the design world can be chaotic at times. Unfortunately for some, one of the most important areas of design – Intellectual Property – is also the area that causes the most confusion. Design Victoria seeks to lay down the basics in their new How To Kits.
The two guides are written for industrial and graphic designers, and give practical advice for both budding and established practitioners. Protect Your Creative (graphic design) and Make Your Mark (industrial design) feature case studies and information to help designers make informed decisions with their work.
“Taking the time to protect your IP is as equally important as developing the design itself,” Michele Azzopardi from Design Victoria says. “These two publications empower industrial and graphic designers with the IP knowledge to grow their business and better engage with industry.”
Better still, the guides are not just for Victorians – they cover legal advice relevant to designers Australia-wide. Developed in collaboration with the Design Institute of Australia, IP Australia and the Australian Graphic Design Association, they offer simple tips that are practical and easy to understand.
Protect Your Creative and Make Your Mark are available for download through Design Victoria.
