Complementing Paul McGillick’s feature article in issue 52 of INDESIGN Magazine, this month Tyrone Branigan’s CINE series takes us behind the facade of a groundbreaking workplace refurbishment in North Sydney.
The 1957 Bates Smart designed building established North Sydney at the time as Sydney’s secondary commercial centre, a satellite hub.
In the late 1990’s BVN were responsible for a revolutionary refurbishment that changed the way that the workplace was designed and experienced, setting new standards for Australian practice and performance. Recently completed, a decade on, the Woods Bagot refurbishment of the site takes a holistic and inhabitant-driven approach on the back of the NAB & MLC merger, creating a vibrant new ‘Wealth Campus’ for the firm.
