A new $400 million mixed-use development in Sydney’s North attempts to ’green’ business.
October 13th, 2008
Designed by GHD Architects, the Gore Hill Innovation Park is the latest development project for Lindsay Bennelong Developments and aims to marry environmental sustainability with business innovation.
The Gore Hill development will be the first technology business park to earn a five star AGBA and Green Star rating in Australia. Located on the former ABC studios site at Gore Hill, on Sydney’s lower North Shore, the 4.6 hectare business park will feature premium office space, as well as retail and leisure facilities – including a plaza-style retail precinct, communal break-out areas, motor showrooms, an indoor aquatic centre and walking and cycling tracks.
The site, an example of innovative contemporary architecture, also sees the implementation of various environmental sustainability initiatives – including recapturing expelled heat, waterless urinals, efficient lift systems and ‘chilled beam’ air conditioning. This will ensure the development gains the five-star rating and sets the benchmark for future industrial and commercial development.
Demolition is complete and site works are currently underway in preparation for construction commencement in January 2009.
