A talented line-up of speakers for the 2010 Design conference.
February 3rd, 2010
March 2010 sees Australia’s design community come together for Sydney’s 8th annual design conference, Semi-Permanent.
With a plethora of talented speakers spanning the Art, Film, Illustration, Photography, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics worlds, the collection of conferences, workshops and exhibitions promise to provide plenty of food for thought for design-loving Sydney-siders.
Confirming the caliber of creative minds descending upon the Sydney Exhibition Centre for the two-day event, Melbourne’s favourite design duo Tin&Ed – whose work spans a range of disciplines including graphic design, illustration, collage, photography and motion graphics – will be in Sydney for the occasion.
Also featuring amongst the speakers, Jessica Hische – designer, illustrator and photographer who has worked with Wired Magazine and Penguin Books, and Ashley Gilbertson – Australian born, New York based photo-journalist whose most recent book, ‘Whisky, Tango, Foxtrot’, details his experiences of the Iraq war.
Jasper Goodall – highly influential graphic artist who has worked with Gucci, Nike, Adidas and Dazed and Confused will also be on hand to engage the crowds of listeners.
Marking a new style of speakers for Semi-Permanent, Craig Schuftan’s involvement as author and broadcaster – who recently assisted in curating the popular ‘The 80’s Are Back’ exhibition at The Powerhouse Museum – shows a move towards a historical and philosophical angle rather than a personal journey through an individual’s work.
Semi-Permanent takes place on the 19 and 20 March 2010 at the Sydney Exhibition Centre.
