New products, designer guests and an immersive installation are in store for visitors to the King Furniture showroom during Brisbane Indesign.
May 7th, 2012
The King Furniture team are gearing up for 2 days of design celebrations, starting off at midday on Friday 25 May with the opening of an installation created by interior designer David Hicks in their Fortitude Valley showroom.
The theme of the installation is Work, Rest and Play – highlighting Australia’s way of living, with the award-winning Andrea sofa by Charles Wilson featured as a sculpture of steel frames in white, offset by shimmering metallics for stunning visual effect.
Hicks’ installation will continue throughout the showroom, displaying 3 King sofas in various settings – from cool and corporate to an outdoor oasis – to embody the work, rest, play theme.
Between 12 and 2pm on the Friday, David Hicks will give King Furniture showroom visitors an insight into his inspirations behind the installation.
Industrial designer Charles Wilson will also be on hand to discuss his collaboration with King Furniture to create the Andrea sofa.
Visitors will have the chance to mingle with Wilson and Hicks, as well as the King Furniture team, over drinks and canapés.
The fun continues on Saturday 26 May, with Hicks and Wilson appearing once again at the King Furniture showroom between 12 and 2pm to share insights into their work.
They will be joined by the owners of Italian furniture brand FORMER, direct from Milan, speaking to guests about the latest additions to their range.
Pieces from the FORMER Italy range, including the FORMER Parcel and FORMER Keel Dining Table, will be on display for visitors to enjoy a sneak peek.
In an exciting Brisbane Indesign first, King Furniture will be unveiling their brand new King sofa and armchair, designed specifically as a product for its contracts range.
