Now and When: Australian Urbanism opened at the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale to over 93,000 visitors. Currently on display at the Gold Coast City Gallery with dates at Sydney’s Object Gallery and Ballarat International Foto Biennale later this year, the exhibition will also be shown at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) from April 25 as part of the Australia Digital Urban Portraits show.
Now and When – led by Creative Directors John Gollings and Ivan Rijavec – is a stunning look at the Australian urban landscape, its current state and how it could develop.
’Now’ is a collection of 3D aerial images of Melbourne, Sydney and Surfers Paradise, contrasted with the mining pits at Kalgoorlie and Newman, WA. Shot by photographer Gollings, the series of images shows the diversity, rapid expansion and development of the Australian urban landscape.
