Global design and consulting firm, Woods Bagot has appointed Simon Paddison to head up its Workplace team for Europe.

Paddison’s appointment will strengthen the London studio’s capability to undertake major commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects based upon his wide-ranging experience of working in London, Hong Kong and Singapore over more than 20 years.

Among Paddison’s key projects are the 75,000 m² campus development for Sina Weibo’s new HQ in Beijing; PwC’s 7 More London Riverside, London which was the first major (45,000m²) building in London to receive the BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ accolade, and 141 Bothwell Street, Glasgow – also for PwC – a BCO National Winner for the ‘Fit-Out of Workplace’ category; Deloitte’s New Street Square, a 25,000m² new build fit-out as part of campus development and a 35,000m² new build development for Ernst & Young, at 1 More London Riverside, both in London.

Jonathan French, Director of Woods Bagot, says Simon is a leading commercial interiors practitioner whose considerable international experience makes him well-placed to grow the range and quality of Woods Bagot’s design work both in Europe and further afield.

“He brings a strong understanding of the spatial requirements of leading international accountancy, financial services, legal and media organisations and I am confident that he will be able to develop new opportunities in these areas through his extensive worldwide network of contacts,” says Jonathan.

Simon Paddison says that in his new role he will be seeking to reinforce the Workplace profile of the London studio as a centre of excellence, and aims to strengthen their local, regional and global relationships to provide clients in Europe and the Middle East with a consistently high quality and delivery of service.

Woods Bagot has also made two senior appointments among its existing London studio staff; Jonathan Leah and Peter O’Donnell have both been made Principals.
