Woolloomooloo local watering hole The Tilbury Hotel has unveiled a fresh, new look following a modernising makeover, the first for the hotel in 12 years.
February 5th, 2016
Interior designer Luchetti Krelle worked with The Tilbury to implement a series of exciting changes including new lighting and furniture, which have been complimented by flourishes of soft pastels and gold brass backgrounds for the interior. The new outdoor courtyard seating, with its iron bar structure and bold, bright backdrop offers a fun and relaxing ambience.
“We wanted to give people a more relaxed experience when visiting the hotel, both in the restaurant and bars, without jeopardising the already simple classic style The Tilbury possesses,” says Scott Whitehouse, General Manager of Whitehouse Properties, owners of the Tilbury, “I think after these refurbishments, we will have successfully achieved that.”
Head Chef James Wallis has held the reins of The Tilbury Hotel kitchen since May 2015 and has since had a strong impact on the dining offering. As the hotel undergoes an exciting new look, the menu has seen similar renovation, with a new focus on seasonal, quality Australian ingredients.
The renovation of the long-standing hotel has been done to please both new crowds and satisfy the loyal customers.
