Penelope Seidler AM will join the Board of Directors of the Biennale of Sydney.
Seidler, who holds various leadership roles within business and the community, is a long-time supporter of the event, having visited every exhibition since the inaugural Biennale of Sydney in 1973.
“With her, she brings a deep passion for contemporary art and a broad working knowledge of both Australian and international arts organisations,” said Biennale Chairman Luca Belgiorno-Nettis.
Of her new appointment, Seidler said: “I am pleased to join the Board of this inspiring institution. I am excited to be working with an organisation that brings contemporary art – something I have been involved with for many years through our architectural practice – to the forefront of public awareness.”
The 18th Biennale of Sydney will run from 27 June – 16 September 2012.
