High-end French furniture brand Roche Bobois continues its international expansion with a new luxury showroom in Singapore.

The new Roche Bobois Singapore showroom presents a selection of the brand’s best collections on the ground-floor level of 75 Bukit Timah Road. The local launch of Roche Bobois was a natural fit for the brand, which felt captivated by the modernity and cultural dynamism of Singapore.
“I am thoroughly delighted to be officially opening the new showroom in Singapore,” remarks Gilles Bonan, the CEO of Roche Bobois. “Singapore is a city known for its appreciation of modernity and open-mindedness and these ideals are central to the Roche Bobois brand. This opening demonstrates the brand’s ambitions in Asia; we are already present in China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Vietnam and India, and we intend to increase our presence in this strategic part of the world.”
The story of Roche Bobois is a story of people, and of families. It all began with the fateful meeting of two families. The Roche family from France has had a successful family furniture business since the 1800s. They met the Chouchan family, who had migrated from Russia and opened their own furniture showroom –Au Beau Bois – in 1950. Their brand name which would later evolve into ‘Bobois’.
Together, the two families formed a bond with a passion for offering high-quality and innovative designs relevant to the time. By the early ’60s, they had already designed their first collection together. The first Roche Bobois showroom, designed by the visionary architect and designer Pierre Paulin, was opened at the same time on the Boulevard Saint-Germain.
Today, design lovers the world over can appreciate the French style of Roche Bobois’ dining room, bedroom and living furniture. The new 500-square-metre Singapore showroom serves as a showcase of the brand’s unique French sensibilities, as well as a space to honour Roche Bobois’ long-established and fruitful relationships with talented designers such as Marcel Wanders, Kenzo Takada, Ora Ito and more. It’s French joie de vivre, Singapore style!
