Thanks to Grafunkt, Vitra now has its very own retail space in Singapore. And true to the brand, it resonates with the homely collage effect that we loved in Vitra’s Milan display this year.
October 25th, 2017
Vitra by Grafunkt opened earlier this month on the second floor of Millenia Walk, offering various home-like settings across 180 square metres. We’re excited enough by the fact that this beloved brand now has its own store in Singapore; but even more excited that the space has been designed faithfully to the Vitra approach.
The store showcases various settings – from living, to dining, home office and outdoor spaces, adapted for floor plans in Asia. Vitra believes domestic interior environments are best shaped by the principle of the collage – the idea that a vibrant living space gains character through a mix of old and new, high and low, classic and contemporary. And this is something that we know is also true to the heart of the Grafunkt team.
On display are products from the core of the Vitra Home Collection; designs from the twentieth century by Jean Prouvé, George Nelson, Verner Panton and Isamu Noguchi; as well as more recent pieces by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Jasper Morrison, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.
“While increasing its geographical presence in Asia, Vitra is constantly looking for passionate partners that can create a strong customer experience and fulfill Vitra’s philosophy of a collage into various home environments,” says Morten Joergensen, Vitra General Manager of Middle East and Asia.
Say Jefrey Kuniadidjaja and Nathan Yong, co-founders of Grafunkt, “At Grafunkt, we believe in collaborating with brands whom we share the same beliefs – bringing great design to the people. In addition, we feel that opening a partner store will give Vitra a better platform in sharing their vision and philosophy to the masses.”
