Their products and concepts are developed through an intensive design process that combines the company’s engineering excellence with the creative input of leading international designers.

Case in point: To be shown for the first time in Asia at Hong Kong Indesign, Allstar by Konstantin Grcic is a chair that defies conventional categorisations. Is it a chair for the corporate workspace or the home office? What period is it from? What specific functions is it meant to fulfill? What is it made of? In designing Allstar, Grcic deliberately kept such formulations open with the aim of providing office workers with a relaxed, home-like feel and sense of familiarity.

At the same time, Allstar carries all the functions necessary for a fully equipped office chair, such as an adjustable synchronised mechanism with lockable positioning, seat depth and height adjustment, and an adjustable backrest. The chair’s stout loop frame also simultaneously performs the function of armrests, backrest support and extended arm of the mechanical unit. It enables the separate movement of seat and backrest, and transfers the forces to the mechanical unit under the seat.

Belleville collection by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Another must-see at Hong Kong Indesign, the new Belleville collection by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec consists of a chair, armchair, and tables. The designs are characterised by varied materials and muted colours. Through a careful coordination of their forms and materials, the chairs and tables can harmoniously fit into a broad range of home interiors and establishments.
