Cover, an aluminium and glass door system from Rimadesio, is one system to stylishly solve all storage needs in contemporary settings.
September 6th, 2017
Founded in 1956 in Italy’s furniture district of Brianza, Rimadesio is a pioneer in bringing aluminium indoors. The brand pairs recyclable glass and aluminium (a material previously viewed as ‘cold’ and suitable only for outdoor and industrial use) with a broad range of stylish finishes suitable for both residential and commercial interiors.
One of the brand’s recent innovations is the Cover system. Brainchild of Italian architect and long-time Rimadesio collaborator Giuseppe Bavuso, Cover is a system of single-hinged glass doors designed to solve all storage needs in contemporary spaces.
Whether for turning niches into display cases, creating walk-in wardrobes, or partitioning and sectioning living spaces and workspaces, Cover can cover all thanks to its adaptability and its extensive range of finishes and accessories.
Cover is light both in appearance and installation. The system comprises an aluminium structure fixed to the ceiling and the floor, and doors with invisible hinges. The doors are offered in a broad selection of materials in various degrees of transparency, from clear ‘vitrine’ glass, to glass with satin or frosted finishes, and solid aluminium.
Also on offer is a selection of internal elements that includes bases, shelves, clothes hanger bars and drawer units. These elements are either fixed directly to the aluminium structure without visible screws, or are freestanding units with wheels. The shelves can also be fitted with an LED lighting system.
At this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, Rimadesio presented the latest evolution of the range, the Cover Freestanding system. This iteration allows one to tailor linear or corner compositions. The freestanding system can also be integrated with openings, serving as a stylish threshold from one area of the living space and the next.
In Singapore, Rimadesio is available from The Madison Group.
