Experiential design consultancy e2 is setting up shop in Asia, with an exciting new office in Singapore.
December 10th, 2010
e2, the design consultancy specialising in creating spaces and experiences, has always worked across the Asia Pacific region.
Now the company is taking its global outlook even further, opening a Singapore office in October 2010 with Lisa Lee heading up the Asia hub as Regional Director.
As well as its strategic location, e2 identified a unique approach to design in Singapore that sets it apart as a creative hub.
“Singapore has always been a very clean fusion of new and old,” said e2’s Client Services Director Patrick Moloney.
“There’s a definite growing trend for the use of technology and the use of lighting and screens within architecture, which is quite exciting.”
For an experiential design company, this use of technology offers endless possibilities.
“Apart from creating something that is quite visually arresting, this creates flexible pieces of architecture that are actually allowing the customer journey to be tackled when the viewer first arrives,” Moloney explains.
e2’s current projects across the Asia region include working with a telco client in Jakarta, and as a co-agency for a convenience store project in Jakarta bringing fresh milk to the nation.
The Singapore office will provide what Moloney describes as “a new frontier for what [the company] is doing for the region.”
One of the first projects to come out of the Singapore office is an audit of the in-branch communications of the Standard Charter Bank for their Branch of the Future, which will open in the new Marina Bay Financial Centre.
Key to the success of the Singapore office and of the company’s establishment in Asia is e2’s design process.
“Our ability to understand different markets and people’s behaviours, respond to them and allow that to inform the design, is key to our success.
“It will facilitate a type of design that is very unique and very localised, based on a synthesis of how people want to use space and how they behave.”
