The design of this shoe brand’s flagship London store encapsulates the brand philosophy for an interesting new concept.
December 5th, 2011
United Nude is the brainchild of Rem D Koolhaas and Galahad Clark – an architect and seventh-generation shoemaker respectively – a shoe brand that sits between fashion and design and creates sculptural, architectural wearable pieces.

The brand’s philosophy can be seen in the interior design of its stores. The brand claims to be founded on ’conceptual design, elegance and innovation’, and nowhere is this better seen than in United Nude’s flagship store in London.

Designed by Koolhaas, the store was inspired by a ’dark-shop’ concept. Only the product displays are illuminated; the rest of the store is left dark.

A Wall of Light is the most prominent feature of the store. This computer-controlled LED wall showcases United Nude products in geometric frames, lit up like works of art.
