Luxury jewellery brand Baccio has seen a new store opened in Westfield shopping centre Miranda.
April 7th, 2015
Sydney based design studio loopcreative designed the new flagship jewellery store, a 160sqm corner site at the threshold of the old and new centres. The shop’s front façade is a piece of engineering jewellery in itself; influenced by geometric jewels from a necklace that owner Mario Zamel had in store during the initial concept design phases.
The façade features diamond-shaped brass window display boxes, lined with suede to mimic the jewellery boxes inside the store. These windows are connected with angular steel geometric work and a backdrop of metal mesh curtains interlaced between the modules.
Rod Faucheux, director of loopcreative, explains the design process: “What we were trying to achieve with the store was to create a work of art, a piece of jewellery that reflects the products within and stands out amongst the many other retailers within the centre. As each customer is to feel unique, we aimed to create an iconic designs that reflected the individual brand identity.”
Inside the store, layered bespoke brass cantilevered counters create a sense of decadence and class, accentuated by Italian marble flooring and feature lighting by Roll and Hill. Agnes fittings and all surrounding cupboards are custom made with an Ebony New Aged Veneer.
Unlike other fit outs, the majority of the parts were pre-fabricated pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, carefully designed to fit together flawlessly. The installation required an almost automative assembly line approach, with little to no tolerance for error
