The 283-room hotel has been revamped to become the first Australian Novotel establishment to introduce the ‘Hypothesis’ room design concept from Novotel’s Parisian design team.

The ‘Hypothesis’ design philosophy, centred around reducing waste – both environmental and spatial – has redefined the hotel’s interior, offering a dynamic experience for guests. Australian design studio Dezign has sought to integrate nature throughout the building’s 22 floors, showcasing mood-lit hallways adorned with earthy carpets and wood detail panels.

“The well-situated location of the hotel, in the busy and central Sydney CBD, enables guests to enjoy high street shopping, Circular Quay, the Opera House, Barangaroo and some of Australia’s most renowned restaurants and bars,” says Paul Salter, managing director of Salter Brothers.

The rooms, designed with a contemporary touch, boast natural lighting and scenic views of Sydney’s CBD. Key suites feature partial water views of Sydney Harbour, while balcony rooms and suites offer vistas of Wynyard Park. 

Meanwhile, the Superior One Bedroom Suites on the highest floors provide a spacious 42-square-metre modern oasis with plush bedding and a wet bar with microwave and fridge. Superior King Rooms with Balcony offer 12-square-metre-deep entertaining terraces, providing a unique outdoor perspective amidst the city.

“We want guests to achieve the balance they seek during their stay,” says Kim Stredder, general manager of the hotel. “Room furnishings are flexible, allowing guests to customise their stays. We have created an environment that’s ideal for corporate travellers, families and couples. This level of dynamism in design will allow guests to truly create a home away from home, and an office away from the office.”

“Sustainability is a key focus with the removal of single-use plastics, the introduction of Purezza still and sparkling water taps in the bar, effective natural amenities by Deep Nature, and recycling bins in all rooms,” adds Stredder. The commitment extends to double-glazed windows for improved insulation and an ongoing food waste program.

The Novotel Sydney City Centre also welcomes children up to the age of 16 to stay for free when sharing a room with their parents. 

Plans for the new year include the unveiling of the Novotel Fitness Studio and a new dining concept with a renowned chef. Guests can also soon expect to enjoy a Pillow Menu for further customisation.
