A new Fortitude Valley exhibition space is set to impress Brisbane’s arts and design scene.
September 17th, 2008
A former warehouse on Light Street in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, is being transformed into a modern space, a ‘blank canvas’ for exhibitions, film shoots, catwalk shows and many other events.
The Lightspace project is a multi-functional space promoting business, the arts, fashion, music and new media with events, displays and educational programs to be held in the renovated building.
Developed by architect, Stephen Cameron, from Ark Atelier the space includes two function areas (upstairs and downstairs), a purpose-built bar and toilet facilities. The large open internal space features iron pillars and an outdoor terrace with city views.
Lightspace will be finished in time for Brisbane Indesign on Saturday 20 September 2008. Ark Atelier will also be creative partner for the space during the event, devising unique divisions of fabrics, panels and flooring to separate the different exhibitors.
