Aesop (featured in DQ52) evokes the old-world gentleman’s club in its new flagship Melbourne store.
May 3rd, 2012
Coinciding with its 25th anniversary, cosmetics brand Aesop has launched its new flagship space on Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD.
The fit-out is the result of a collaboration between Aesop’s in-house creative team and Melbourne’s Kerstin Thompson Architects.
Reminiscent of an old-fashioned gentleman’s club, the interior exudes a masculine elegance, complete with leather curtain, brass cabinets, blackened steel and copper fixtures.
Underfoot, goat hair carpet completes the old-world, textured aesthetic.
A purpose-built mirrored bureau provides a focal point to the space as well as a place for products to be tried and tested.
In classic Aesop style, strong lines and geometric shapes create a classic look with a contemporary edge.
The Collins Street store is the 22nd Australian signature space for Aesop. New stores in Geneva, Paris, London, New York and Tokyo are set to follow.
