The latest in this long standing collaboration is a lounge collection that is a fresh interpretation on some of design’s most loved movements.

One of Australia’s most prolific designers is back, launching an all-new lounging solution in collaboration with Zenith Design Studio. Following the success of past collaborations like the HULL Lounge and the Wes Seating Collection, Tom Fereday and Zenith have joined forces once again, releasing a new design family that frames the beauty within.
Introducing Easel
The Easel collection features a family of single and multi-seat lounges in a standard (750mm height) configuration. A study in honest design, sustainable materials, and exemplary craftsmanship, the collection steps away from the chubby lounges that have saturated our algorithms over the last 24 months, offering an alternative that feels harmonious and deeply authentic.
Drawing on Fereday’s long standing fascination with the tension that lies between natural materials and contemporary design and manufacture, the Easel collection is a sum of its parts, with both frame and seat on equal display. The sleek solid timber frame in either American Oak or Black Stained Oak is the lounge’s exoskeleton, wrapping around its outside to form an incredibly strong and yet refined seating structure.
In much the same way that an easel holds a canvas, the lounge’s frame supports the softly cushioned interior, where gently curving edges swathe the lounge’s interior, while a base of soft webbing and natural wool fibre inlay ensure maximum comfort. The clean pragmatic lines of the Easel collection provides a canvas for the upholstery, allowing the fabric to be on show on both the inside and outside of the lounge. Leaning further into the artistic motif, Zenith’s vast array of upholstery options truly makes the seating a space for creative expression.
With the Easel collection, Tom Fereday and Zenith Design Studio have crafted a harmonious blend of honest materials, natural elegance and contemporary design. As the latest in an evolving list of collaborations between Fereday and Zenith, this collection draws together the expertise of both houses, resulting in an authentic lounging solution that provides steadfast support and frames the beauty within.
