Wilkhahn develops and manufactures advanced, high-quality and carefully designed ergonomic office chairs and table solutions, which actively foster well-being, health, creativity and performance.

Founded in 1907 in Bad Münder, Germany, Wilkhahn’s main production facility is housed at its German headquarters, however it has also manufactured its products locally in Sydney for the past sixteen years.
“All of our table ranges sold locally are manufactured in Australia as well as approximately 85 percent of our chairs sold. As Sydney is the production headquarters for Wilkhahn Asia Pacific, these figures hold true for all products sold into Asia as well,” says Adrian Nicolini, General Manager of Australia and New Zealand.
“For the production of our chairs, we hand-cut the upholstery materials, such as fabrics, leathers, felts and foams. Our seamstresses then sew the cut materials by hand, in preparation for upholstery, which is also done in-house. We then assemble the chairs from stocked componentry.”
Local manufacturing enables Wilkhahn to respond to the market efficiently, whether it’s a quick lead time or a very specific conferencing solution. “It is also important for Wilkhahn to support local manufacturing jobs and businesses, through our extensive local supply chain,” explains Adrian.
