Luxxbox is celebrating ten years of helping build the Australian design scene, and it’s you who’s walking away with the presents.
2017 saw Brisbane and US-based design studio Luxxbox celebrate a decade in the design game, and they’ve used this milestone to renew their commitment to Australian design and manufacturing, by shifting their focus inward. Over ten years of growth, the group’s extensive product range has grown to include furniture, lighting and lifestyle products that explore a unique version on urban design.
Responding to a need in a marketing lacking diversity, Luxxbox originally launched their popular Tingle stool in 2006. Inspired by the iconic Australian lolly, the colourful, hard-wearing stool was an immediate success in a market that screaming out for some diverse, original design, and Luxxbox has gone on to sell and export thousands.
Early this year, seeing another obvious hole in the Australian manufacturing sector, Luxxbox is set to light another fire in the industry by expanding their custom and contract upholstery operations. Their ever-expanding furniture collections are not only full-customisable, but all made on-shore, in-house. Having ownership of the entire process means Luxxbox can offer authentic, hard-wearing Australian craftsmanship and quality assurance for extra peace of mind.
The recently-launched For Collection features low-set chairs, loungers and wingbacks that take their design cues from classic and iconic aesthetics. Offering a contemporary reimagining of a familiar style, the sumptuous wraparound-edges of the For Wingback and For Wingback Lounger create space in busy receptions and communal lounge areas for quiet and for calm. The collection sits perfectly alongside other popular Luxxbox pieces, including Podia, Strait and Rune.
Inspired by the modern day dilemma of noisy, open-plan offices, Luxxbox also designs and manufactures products that encourage creative thinking while fostering productivity. From sound-absorbing light pendants, agile whiteboards and custom lounge systems, Luxxbox continues to design for the everyday.
