Champions of innovation in the bathroom, Stormtech specialises in drainage which is seamless, sophisticated and oh-so functional. It has now released its first aluminium grate.
February 7th, 2023
Architectural drainage designers and manufacturers Stormtech made their debut on the world stage with the iconic ‘linear drain’ in 1989. This innovative drain design allowed for a shower without a hob – giving their disabled clients the power to shower privately and without assistance. Stormtech quickly came to be known as pioneers of unique bathroom solutions, pairing ground-breaking designs with the latest technologies.
Now, Stormtech sets its sights on a new development for residential and commercial bathrooms: the aluminium grate. The Wave Grate is a superior oxide anodised aluminium solution designed to provide high-performance drainage at affordable prices.
Designed and manufactured in Australia, the Wave Grate features a unique wave pattern never before seen on the market. The Wave Grate also features a separator which ensures that the aluminium grate and stainless-steel channel never touch – eliminating the potential for corrosion and ensuring that the Wave Grate achieves the same high-performance standards as all Stormtech products.
With an easy to clean gate design in a satin or black finish, the Wave Grate is set to change the game for modern drainage, offering architects and industry professionals a high-end aluminium drainage option for mid-range prices.
“Everything about the Wave Grate is aimed at making life easier. It is comfortable to walk on and more aesthetically pleasing in a bathroom as you can’t see dirt in the channel. It’s resistant to corrosion and will never fade. The design also provides a safe wet area finish as it grabs water using surface tension and keeps it off the grate.” – Tory Creighton, Stormtech Managing Director
Stormtech have been developing their wave grate design for more than 30 years. When the designing process began, the use of extruded aluminium in a stainless-steel channel was deemed unsuitable by the National Construction Code. Now, decades later, they have achieved the WaterMark certification which ensures the Wave Grate complies with the Plumbing Code of Australia and meets all of the necessary requirements for quality and safety under the Australian Building Standards.
Wave Grate is available in modular kits, made-to-length and fixed units in both UPVC and stainless-steel channels, as well as an an easy to clean gate design in a satin, black finish or brass gold. Learn more about Stormtech’s Wave Grate here.
