Spacemaile screening has been used to create a dramatic lighting feature.
July 4th, 2016
The reimagining of the iconic Calamvale Hotel in Calamvale, in Queensland Australia was designed by Craig Chandler Architecture and Interior Design. The large redevelopment sought material finishes that were at once contemporary and elegant. Spacemaile distributed by Austaron screening was used as part of a dramatic lighting feature in the foyer space of the Hotel, drawing the eye and creating an impactful, but still gentle and stylish effect.
Spacemaile has been hung from the ceiling from circular metal frames, dropping down to reflect the vibrancy of the ceiling lighting. The Spacemaile has been laid out in different sized circular shapes with flowing lines. The main feature is also surrounded by a shorter perimeter in Spacemaile colour Copper to define the seating area below. Part of the Spacemaile feature can also be seen from the second level in the open plan design, almost as an artistic, sculptural element to look at as visitors walk by. Spacemaile also continues into the function area with a row of smaller Spacemaile designs that have been placed around light sources to create elegant chandelier-like features that create elegance in a room where weddings and corporate events take place.
