Dwell is available exclusively through Stylecraft in Australia, and indeed Gardam has been travelling around the country to speak about the collection. He was in Sydney recently to give an intimate talk on Dwell, as well as some of the lighting products of his that are available at Stylecraft.

Gardam constantly breaks new ground with his innovative lighting and furniture designs. However, with a new modular lounging collection named Dwell, this prodigious designer has reached new heights in form and function with furniture that personifies elegance and sophistication.

“The studio has been working in this sector for a decade now and through-out that time we have learned so much in the development phases. That being said, I think we have learnt even more from how architects and designers have used the pieces in projects and also some of the custom solutions we have created to address request,” Gardam comments.

With long lines and a pared-back simplicity, Dwell encapsulates refinement of form, function and detail that sees it stand out from the crowd.

Each piece of the modular collection includes a continuous rail which provides physical support but also defines the linear language of the design. Arms and legs are positioned at the outermost point of each module or configuration and again this adds to the clean clear form.

Beautifully proportioned and expertly tailored, Dwell is perfect as one single bench seat but equally at home as a stylish group of sofa, bench and chair. It becomes a sculptural installation in a space and will suit any floorplan with the flexibility to create linear runs, corner settings, clusters or island-like arrangements.

Whether finished in fabric or leather, the style of Dwell is simple and refined and the collection will sit right at home in a residence, workplace or commercial setting.

Explaining the evolution of Dwell, Gardam recalls: “Development of the piece was over a two-year period – I remember as I was in Sydney for the INDE.Awards where we were lucky enough to win The Object category with Méne. I stayed a few extra days at the Ace Hotel and locked myself away and created the basis of the Dwell collection.”

With Dwell, Ross Gardam reaffirms his reputation as a designer of distinction, delivering a modular range that exemplifies the future of refined Australian furniture. Ross Gardam has another winner on your hands with Dwell, a modular range that sets a new benchmark for great design and is a wonderful addition to your established collections of furniture, lighting and objects.
