Mura Jaali by EchoPanel®

In collaboration with Rivet Design Studio, Woven Image has developed EchoPanel Mura Jaali as part of the Spring/Summer 2012 new product release

Rivet Design Studio are a well-known company based in Bangalore, India, who create branding solutions including identity, experience and communication. Rivet Design Studio believe “Design is about making things clearer, simpler and more consistent. Design makes things look better, feel better, work better, sound better. Design is about delivering a lasting impression.”

EchoPanel Mura Jaali encompasses this philosophy whilst being inspired by historical “Jaali”, which is a unique style of perforated stone or latticed screen often found in Indian architecture. The Jaali design instils a modern take on a classic tradition by creating a clever irregular pattern that flows across the substrate.

EchoPanel Mura Jaali is available in five colourways, including a collection of functional neutrals of subtle ivory on cream, mushroom and charcoal, as well as a directional pallet of lettuce with turquoise and paprika with ivory.

WORKPLACE :: A @Millikenfloorsanz carpet sample provided inspiration for the colourful fit-out of the Ultimate Security head office in Sydney. @inspiredspacesaus and Milliken closely collaborated to bring the vibrant vision to life.

Inspiration can sometimes spring from surprising places – and for the vibrant fit-out for the new Ultimate Security headquarters in Sydney’s Concord, it came from a Milliken carpet sample. The brief to interior design studio Inspired Spaces was to create an open-plan workplace to serve the company both now and in the future, with additional space that would be attractive as a leasing destination and allow for expansion.

The result is a visually exciting scheme across the 2,000-square-metre space, elevated through a bold approach to colour. The monochromatic backdrop – think greys and whites offset by graphic black crittal-style window frames and shelving for verdant greenery – comes to life through pops of warm oranges, yellow, and reds that echo the colours in the Milliken carpet.

Milliken’s Creo range evokes the famous street art of Brazil and – in keeping with the company’s focus on giving designers choices that allow them to express themselves – is offered in three colourways and three pattern families.
