Launching today, after two years in design and development, The Collection Online signals a new era in sourcing the best in design
October 9th, 2012
In 2007 the Indesign Group brought you The Collection Volume 1, an almanac of design excellence – a compendium devised to support the creative industry in doing what it does best.
Establishing itself as an indispensible addition to resource libraries across Australia – a second Volume was released in 2009 – overwhelming demand dictated it.
The Collection presented an edited directory of lighting, furniture, suppliers, finishes and fittings – empowering the A&D community to filter out the premium, most sought-after design solutions, halving the leg work.
As the practice of designing has evolved and developed in line with the digital age, the next chapter of The Collection sees it too ’go online’.
Today we are pleased to launch The Collection Online (TCO) – the curated digital resource built expressly for the Australian design community.
“For me, apart from inspiration, online content increasingly plays a role in the sourcing of finishes and specifications of materials – as it can be done in my time.” Explains Amanda Stanaway, Senior Associate at Woods Bagot.
With a deliberate emphasis on usability Stanaway describes the interface as “…graphically simple and easily navigated.”
Launching with over 450 listings and a considerable expansion already under way, Sydney based designer David Caon is also enthused by the arrival of TCO:
“I certainly made good use of the print version of The Collection to populate my material library and I think that the collection online, as it grows and evolves, could become a critical go-to resource for us when identifying new suppliers and materials.”
With the capacity to expand and constantly be revised and updated, The Collection Online is a direct portal and contact point between the user and leading suppliers, TCO becomes a more efficient and up-to-date point of reference. It puts design excellence at your fingertips.
