A visit to Copenhagen is not complete without popping by the Gubi showroom to experience the brand ‘at home’ – and what a place to explore and enjoy!
November 28th, 2023
As a brand, Gubi is one of the best, and seeing the products on home turf is a revelation for the breadth of the offering is enormous. The Gubi Copenhagen showroom is located in the upmarket location of Orientkaj and is a destination that is extraordinarily spacious, modern and inviting.
The ranges and collections of furniture and lighting on display are grouped in various configurations such as room settings, by type of product and individually; the array truly represents this global design house at its best.

There is history in the Gubi offering – more than a century of design, in fact – that serves the architecture and design community around the world with original products that stand the test of time. A multitude of designers have collaborated with Gubi and these include the inimitable Gio Ponti, Gabriella Crespi, Joe Colombo, Komplot Design, Marcel Gascoin, Mathias Steen Rasmussen, Mathieu Matégot, GamFratesi and Space Copenhagen, to name but a few.
So many of Gubi’s products have become icons of our time. The new collections, however, are also making waves, keeping Gubi in the spotlight and at the forefront of desirability.

Take, for example, the collaboration with New York’s Noah launched at 3daysofdesign where a product combines a New York sensibility with refined Danish style for outdoor living. The object is a beautiful chair, sleek and linear and very laid back. The MR01 outdoor version is designed by Mathias Steen Rasmussen and Noah’s Brendon Babenzien and Estelle Bailey-Babenzien have interpreted it in new colours and a five-piece capsule collection. Or the Seine Portable by Space Copenhagen, a portable light that is a casual addition to any location, right at home inside or out.
Other products of note that were previewed at Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2023 are the Frattini lamps; Model 975 and Aspide, as well as the new Tynell lamps alongside the Pierre Frey collaboration on the Tynell 9602 floor lamp.

In this Copenhagen showroom that presents Gubi on stage, up close and personal, it’s easy to see why this furniture, lighting and object brand is one of the world’s best.
Should you ever be in Copenhagen, then definitely make the trip to visit the Gubi showroom and, much like me, you won’t be disappointed.
Gubi is available at CULT in all major cities in Australia.
