Flint, a new seating design by Tom Fereday for SD Element, is built around the concept of a nesting landscape.
April 30th, 2015
Conceived through intricate origami maquettes Flint represents a design that is striking yet understated, built around the concept of a nesting landscape. When together, the Flint range offers a seamless landscape of seating with smooth undulating forms. When broken the pieces reveal their striking faceted forms.
Developed from the inside out, the entire range is constructed from sustainably sourced, FSC rated Australian plywood frame, on top of which sculpted GECA rated foam and water based glues finish the piece with natural fabrics. The Flint collection offers an almost endless number of modular options for both small and large public spaces.
MATERIAL: Fully upholstered in approved contract fabrics, vinyl and leather.
