Swedish design meets Italian fashion in the latest collaboration between Bolon and Missoni.
July 2nd, 2012
When Sweden’s award-winning flooring company Bolon and legendary Italian fashion house Missoni come together, the result is a vibrant, uplifting collection that brings out the best in both brands.
“My sister Marie and I came into contact with Missoni a few years ago and we quickly found common ground,” said Bolon’s Annica Ecklund recently.
“The same philosophy about life, views about design; both Bolon and Missoni are strong family businesses with their own production lines, third-generation entrepreneurs, our products are woven – as you can imagine, we saw eye-to-eye on most things.
“Creative collaborations, like this one with Missoni, give us the energy to shift into a higher gear.”
The new collection, Bolon by Missoni, is based on Missoni’s classic patterns and vast colour range, reproduced by Bolon using the latest weaving technology.
Available in 3 designs – Optical, Bayadere and Flame – as well as a variety of colours, there are 9 options available.
“I am incredibly proud of the results – we are treading on virgin ground here,” sad Marie Eklund of Bolon,
“No one has seen anything like this either from Bolon or anywhere else in the market.”
Bolon by Missoni will be available in Australia through The Andrews Group from August 2012.
