At Work with Camira has walked away with one of the industry’s most revered design awards for their innovative collection of fabrics.
July 22nd, 2015
At Work with Camira has received a Silver Award in the Textile Upholstery category for their ‘Natural Blends’ entry at NeoCon, the industry’s largest commercial interiors event recently held in Chicago, America.
The winning collection, Natural Blends comprises ranges Main Line Flax and Century. Manufactured from wool, flax and upcycled jute – Natural Blends are an example of At Work with Camira’s world leading progress in the design and manufacture of fabrics made from blends of bast fibre and wool.
Main Line Flax, made from a 70-30 wool-flax blend, is a sustainable take on At Work with Camira’s all-time best-selling fabric, Main Line Plus. Fuelled by the desire to create a fabric from both rapidly renewable and recycled raw materials, Century is an innovative, environmental textile featuring both natural wool and recycled jute.
The jute comes from hessian cloth sacks, used to transport cocoa and coffee beans, which are broken back into fibre for upcycling into yarn and fabric. Century draws on British heritage to create a modern interpretation of a textile classic with unique environmental positioning with a traditional ‘houndstooth’ check design woven in a robust double cloth and softened with a natural twist.
