Fashion Designer, Fiona Buckingham, established the Kyotap label in 2002
June 4th, 2008
Fiona’s designs, like the acronym suggests, are versatile – they are often reversible or can be worn in an endless combination of styles and ways. Influenced by urban architectural form and eastern approaches to cloth, Fiona’s designs reflect her own appreciation of traditional eastern lines and abstract, futuristic forms. She consistently challenges traditional garment construction by experimenting with structure, flow and form and using, for example, only one seam line and allowing the body itself to shape a garment.
