Our editor will be speaking at an upcoming circlesix event hosted by fjcstudio at Sydney’s Australia Square. Register here to attend.
March 12th, 2026
The next instalment of fjcstudio’s circlesix series will take place on Thursday 26th March – and this time, our very own editor will be speaking. Timothy Alouani-Roby will address the topic of architecture and writing, or Words vs Images – arguing that the design world overstates the importance of the visual at the expense of the written.
Previous speakers at circlesix have included Tristram Carfrae, Penelope Seidler and Dr Ses Salmond. The event is a monthly gathering at fjcstudio’s new office located on the sixth floor of the iconic Australia Square building. In this next iteration, Richard Francis-Jones will respond to a series of provocations aimed at providing some new, enriching perspectives for architects and writers alike.

The main presentation will engage with questions such as:
What is lost in architecture’s obsession with images?
Is it possible to write as well as draw architecture?
What different perspectives can the written word open up for architects?
Why should architects care about writing and literature?
From 5.30pm
Australia Square (level six), 264 George Street
Thursday 26th March
