Melbourne and centres in regional Victoria will play host to the 2011 State of Design Festival, Australia’s biggest celebration of design.
This year’s theme is Design That Moves, as the Festival explores design in, on and around projects that are transformative, mobile and networked.
State of Design attracted over 150,000 visitors in 2010, and this year’s event is sure to be another huge one for design professionals and design lovers!
Highlights of the 12-day event will include Look.Stop.Shop, a design-led walk around shopfront installations in Melbourne’s City Centre; DESIGN:MADE:TRADE, a showcase of leading furniture, fashion and industrial design brands; and Melbourne Open House (MOH), which offers free access to some of the city’s unique places over the final weekend of the State of Design Festival.
The Design for Business program will also feature talks by leading thinkers in architecture, fashion, design systems, education, graphic design and transformation design.
Visit the State of Design website for more info, and sign up to the e-newsletter for all the latest.
