NAWIC will be announcing the winner of its International Women’s Day Scholarship at a cocktail party on Thursday 24 March 2011.
The scholarship presents a $10,500 opportunity for a woman in the construction industry to develop a White Paper to be used as a positive instrument for change.
The evening will feature a presentation by last year’s winner Melonie Bayl-Smith, discussing her review of construction teaching at universities in Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, UK and US.
There will also be a presentation on NAWIC NSW’s upcoming participation in Habitat for Humanity’s 2011 Nepal Build, where 15 NAWIC NSW members will travel to Nepal to help build homes for 10 impoverished female-headed households.
