Design excellence and unparalleled location came together in a delicious, sunset-lit launch at Shaw Contract’s brand new showroom, located on the historic Jones Bay Wharf. Specialising in commercial flooring solutions, Shaw Contract now has created its Sydney flagship to hero the breadth and quality of its innovative range.
Designed with flexibility and versatility in mind, this dynamic showroom-slash-office encapsulates the brand’s personality while also giving a firm nod to the dynamics of the rapidly evolving workplace. Designed in partnership with Siren Design, CBRE Project Management and Hunter Mason, the new showroom is a cutting-edge, multi-level facility that encapsulates the brand’s mission, people and values.
“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Shaw Contract and the broader team on this project. Everyone came together to work collaboratively to get the design and construction phase over the line. We are very proud of this project and the final outcome,” says Venesa Buljubasic, creative director of Siren Design.
The showroom boasts a range of workspaces including an open seating plan, common areas and breakout zones – promoting connectivity, collaboration and wellbeing. Siren Design looked to celebrate the facility’s surrounding context and its waterfront locale. Through a rich, refined palette, the space pays homage to the rustic colours, textures and materiality of the Australian landscape. A feature art installation by Goldberg Aberline Studio showcases the renowned brand in a sculptural artwork that explores the diversity of colour, textures and artistic processes of crafting beautiful carpets.
“Our new workplace will have an impact at multiple scales, with team members who work here, our surrounding communities and our valued clients,” says Anton Arathoon, regional vice president for Shaw Contract Australia. “Brands such as CBRE, Siren Design, DBS and Hunter Mason – all partners who invested their time and skills to create the amazing space we have here today. We’re very proud of the space and of the outcomes”.
