The winning synergy between Cassina and Patricia Urquiola continues as the company confirms her position as Art Director for a second term in the lead up to its centenary in 2027. This marks a definitive moment for both Urquiola and Cassina that cements the brand’s vision for the future and highlights the company’s strengthened strategy to offer unique and complete settings for the home, work and hospitality sector.
“I believe that Patricia Urquiola has great sensibility for contemporary design. She accepts the challenge for experimentation, a characteristic that has always been part of Cassina’s DNA, and, at the same time, she preserves the due respect for our past which has marked the history of design. We are therefore very happy to extend our collaboration together,” says Luca Fuso, Cassina’s chief executive officer.
Fuso’s sentiment is reciprocated in what Urquiola has to say on her extension.
“I am proud to renew my commitment as Art Director of Cassina. To have celebrated the 90th anniversary together, interpreting it as a manifesto for the future. To have redesigned the showroom in via Durini for its 50th anniversary, doubling its space and transforming it into a meeting place. To work on ‘The Cassina Perspective’, a point of view, a vision, with the aim of coherently uniting past, present and future, collaborating with the best designers, foundations and heirs with utmost respect and rigorous research for new materials and technologies,” says the renowned designer.
The harmonic relationship between Luca Fuso, CEO of Cassina since 2018, and Patricia Urquiola has led the company to increase its potential over the last years, resulting in a true evolution of the brand which has found the right balance between the recovery of the works by the great masters of architecture and the innovation and research of the contemporary designers.
‘The Cassina Perspective’ is the manifesto of this progress: the company has enhanced its catalogue by presenting twentieth century icons together with contemporary products to create eclectic atmospheres completed by lighting, accessories and rugs.
