Dance For Life returns, set to be the biggest yet, bringing together the design industry for a high-energy dance-off, raising funds and awareness for Australia’s leading youth mental health organisation.
November 14th, 2024
Dance For Life returns in 2024, set to be its most expansive edition since its inaugural launch in 2012. This annual event amasses architecture and design professionals in Australia for a dynamic dance competition, this year under the thematic ‘Jungle.’ Happening on November 15th, 2024, the event aims to raise awareness and funds for ReachOut, the leading online mental health organisation supporting young people and their families experiencing the maelstrom of emotions and upheaval.
Since its inception, Dance for Life has served as a distinctive platform where the A+D community can engage in a spirited evening of dance while addressing critical issues surrounding youth mental health. The event has evolved from its beginnings as an 80s-themed competition into an industry fixture, reflecting the collective effort to highlight the challenges faced by young Australians. With revered architecture firms like Bates Smart, BVN, Hassell and Webber involved, plus Crone and Stack forming a team!

The 2024 iteration is anticipated to feature a legion of teams, showcasing a diverse array of dance styles and creative expressions. Participants will compete to display their talents while contributing to a cause that affects a substantial portion of the youth population. Current statistics indicate that 40% of young people in Australia experience mental health difficulties, with over a million shying away from seeking professional support. Moreover, suicide remains the leading cause of death for individuals aged 14 to 24, underscoring the importance of initiatives like Dance for Life – this could not be any more literal.
By leveraging the creativity and collaborative spirit of the A+D sector, the event seeks to make a tangible impact on the mental well-being of young Australians, having previously been described by goers as “one of the premier gatherings within the industry.” The A+D community is encouraged to purchase a ticket, donate or sponsor a team – all additional information relating to the charity, teams and sponsors can be found here.
Tickets start from $69.66 and are available to purchase here.
