Nominations have opened for the 2016 Sustainability Awards, Australia’s leading showcase of building projects, products and companies at the forefront of ecologically sustainable design.
May 18th, 2016
Entries for the Sustainable Building Awards are now open. In 2016, the awards program celebrates its 10th year making it the longest running, most prestigious award specific to sustainability in Australia’s design and build sector.
No longer a fringe issue in Australia’s building industry, sustainability has steadily gained its rightful place as a central concern to those creating our built environment.
Award categories include single dwelling, multi-density residential, semi and large commercial and public buildings. New categories include office or retail fit out, heritage buildings, and a lifetime achievement award for an individual.
Last years winners included a rooftop landscape by HASSELL, the UTS Thomas Street Building by Steensen Varming, and the intriguing (world’s first) Carbon Positive House by ArchiBlox. The winner of the ‘Best of the Best’ award was the Walumba Elders Centre by Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects.
Nominations for 2016 are open now.
