The team at Woodhead have been busy putting together a light sculpture for this year’s Vivid Festival – and they’ve let us take a peek at their work.
May 18th, 2011
As Sydney gears up for the 2011 Vivid Festival, local and international artists are putting their finishing touches on what will be a series of 40 light art installations on display at Circular Quay.
A team of 4 architects and designers from Woodhead have spent the past few months designing and building aLf – Artificial Light Form – who will sit harbourside during the festival inviting visitors to interact with him.
aLf will sense the movement going on around him and respond in his own special way, through a coloured visual conversation in light.
Vivid switches on this Friday 27 May and runs until 13 June, with installations and events going on around Sydney.
aLf and 39 other inspiring light sculptures will be on show at Circular Quay throughout the festival. In the meantime, you can follow aLf’s progress here.
The little guy even has his own Facebook page!
