’Design for Everyone’ to engage the Melbourne masses.
December 16th, 2009
Following the success of the 2009 State of Design Festival, 2010 will see the launch of the public program, ‘Design for Everyone’.
The Victorian Government’s State of Design Festival is a valuable strategy devised to increase awareness of the value of design in the region.
Showcasing the virtues of design in generating innovation, promoting sustainability and adding value to business and society, the festival will be held from 14-25 July next year.
Under the theme ‘Change by Design’, the Design Festival will be promoting the value of design as a tool for the creation of sustainable and competitive industries and communities.
Four key programs – ‘Design for Everyone’, ‘Design Capital’, ‘Design:Made:Trade’ and the ‘Premier’s Design Awards’ covering public, business, trade and awards programs – provide an opportunity to demonstrate how design is improving living conditions.
The State of Design Festival is now seeking expressions of interest for public exhibitions, projects, installations, seminars, workshops and creative events to be included in the 2010 program.
